Fluid is a tasks, notes and calendar app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, with optional local Mac utilities. This policy explains what Fluid stores, where, and why. Tasks, notes and calendar content can follow you across your devices. Clipboard history and display settings stay on your Mac. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no data brokers.
What Fluid stores
Account. You sign in with your Apple ID. Apple gives Fluid an email address (or, if you choose "Hide My Email", a private relay address) and, the first time only, your name if you agree to share it. Fluid uses these to create your account and to show who you are in the app.
Your content. Tasks, notes (including images and PDFs you attach), events, categories, the username you choose, and your settings (theme, title font, reminders, which Apple integrations are on). Locations you add to events are stored as the text you picked and, when you chose a suggestion, its map coordinates.
Shared notes. When you send a note to another Fluid user, that person receives a copy of the note (and its attachment, if any) labelled with your username. Sharing is addressed by username only; nobody can look up your email address.
Apple Reminders and Apple Calendar. If you turn these on, the reminders and calendar events on your device are read on that device, and the ones Fluid shows become tasks and events in your Fluid account so they appear on your other devices. Fluid never receives your Apple credentials.
What Fluid does not collect
Optional Mac clipboard history. If you enable it, Fluid saves available clipboard formats and their source app in encrypted local storage, with the key in this Mac's Keychain. Unpinned history keeps up to 100 copies for two days; pinboards remain until removed. Known password-manager sources and content marked confidential or temporary are excluded. You can pause capture, clear history or delete all clipboard data in Settings → This Mac. This data is separate from your Fluid account: signing out does not delete it, and it is never sent to Fluid's servers or synced. Visible link cards automatically contact the referenced websites to retrieve a title and image. These previews are stored with the encrypted local history.
Optional display controls. Fluid reads connected display capabilities and, when selected and supported, the Mac's ambient light sensor or built-in brightness to adjust your screens. Display preferences, presets and any coordinates you enter for sunrise/sunset schedules stay on this Mac. Sensor readings are used locally and are not sent to Fluid's servers.
Fluid runs no analytics, crash reporting or advertising code. Your location is used only on the device, to suggest nearby places while you type a location; it is never sent to Fluid's servers. Fluid does not "track" you across other companies' apps or websites in the sense defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
Where it is stored
Your content is stored in Fluid's database and file storage, hosted by Supabase, encrypted in transit and at rest. Each account can only ever read and write its own rows and files; sharing hands the recipient a copy rather than access to your account. A copy is also cached on each of your devices so Fluid works offline.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on each device from your own tasks and events. They do not pass through any notification service.
Your choices
You can change or remove anything you have stored at any time inside the app. Settings → Delete account erases your account, every task, note, event, file and share you sent, and your sign-in record, immediately and permanently. Signing out removes the local cache from that device.
Children
Fluid is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live) and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version will appear in the app and on the App Store page with a new "Last updated" date.
